Hi, my name is Lila. Although I was born in Mexico, I’ve lived in Milwaukee my entire life, and I have so much love for this city. My biggest inspiration for the work I do is to be a part of the change by providing support and access to opportunities.

I have years of experience working in the community, ranging from community organizing, advocating for women’s economic and reproductive rights to direct service work building and facilitating programs for young people from kindergarten through 12th grade. Growing up in similar neighborhoods and under-resourced communities, I gained a direct understanding of the challenges many people face, and I use that experience to connect with others and make a meaningful impact.

I hold a degree in Behavioral Science and Communication and a certificate in Peace Building from Mount Mary University, along with certificates in Nonprofit Management from UW-Parkside. I am a lifelong learner who values building relationships and learning from others.

I have three children, Naylah, Dominic, and Xavier, and I love spending time with friends and family, traveling, and embracing life to its fullest. I live by the motto that life should be lived and filled with what brings you joy. I am excited to be on this journey with our Dreamers and Families and can not wait to grow with I Have a Dream.
