Comprehensive Support for Dreamers and Families
At the "I Have A Dream" Foundation, our commitment is to empower Dreamers from elementary school through their first career steps, ensuring they possess critical skills and a clear vision for their future. The IHDF-MKE program is not just about individual success; it's about family empowerment.
Our unique approach is centered around personalized support and long-term engagement, which includes:
Elementary School Programs
Our elementary programs focus on establishing a strong foundation that sets the stage for lifelong learning and success. Through our academic interventions, tutoring-focused mentoring, and intentional partnerships we aim to improve reading levels significantly across the board. We work to ensure our Dreamers have ample opportunities to engage in enrichment programs and activities year-round that draw out their strengths, support social-emotional learning, and promote holistic well-being. Our metrics for success include attendance (school and program), academic growth, behavioral improvement, and reported well-being.
Middle and High School Programs
As our Dreamers progress, our programs adapt and evolve to their changing needs. In middle school, we emphasize creativity, confidence, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication—skills vital for high school and beyond. Our high school programs are designed to reinforce these skills while introducing financial literacy, leadership development and civic engagement, and college readiness. Each program is supported by data-driven assessments and partnerships that enhance the learning experience.
Post-Secondary and Alumni Programs
Ensuring our Dreamers are prepared for life beyond school is our ultimate goal. Our post-secondary readiness programs provide support for accessing higher education and successful career paths. Initiatives like the Great Expectations Program offer resources for programming, guest speakers, and scholarships, focusing on career development, summer internships, and post-secondary success.
Mentorship and Professional Development
Across all age groups, our mentorship programs connect Dreamers with mentors who guide and support their educational journey. We offer training and ongoing support to our \ mentors to enhance their ability to support our Dreamers effectively.
Support from National
The IHDF National office aids affiliates by providing professional development, promoting best-practices, collecting and analyzing data to improve programs, and supporting the pursuit of national grants that address common challenges across our network. We are committed to fostering a uniform experience for all Dreamers, ensuring no one is left behind.
